Kids Love Squash!

Whatever their age or level, your child will find a place in SquashRx programs.  We have a team of expert, accomplished instructors who are passionate about teaching kids to play squash.

Squash is the ideal sport for kids and teens, offering them a fast paced, highly stimulating activity which develops a wide range of physical skills, mental stamina, confidence, and character. It improves their fine motor skills, coordination, agility, balance, and strength, as well as sports specific skill development and tactical training.

Squash also promotes healthy competition and mindset training, which supports kids in all aspects of their lives, including academics.

Year Round Programs

Rain or shine, summer or winter, your child can be active and healthy on our courts!

Junior programming consists of two semesters-the Fall semester from September to January, and Spring semester from February to June.   In the summer, we offer exclusive camps and tours, both in the US (New York and Connecticut) and in Europe.

No Membership Needed

Access to a court can be a big hurdle for many families. Clubs charge for memberships and a myriad of fees. SquashRx is unique in that we don’t charge any membership fees for kids to join our classes.  Classes are open to everyone, with no long-term commitment required.  This makes starting squash with us easy and affordable.

Why Squash?

Squash is a fun, active sport that can be played year round. Being a very social activity, as children learn the game and improve their skills, they also learn sportsmanship, how to cooperate, negotiate, and compromise with their peers.  Squash is a lifelong sport that can be played at all stages of life.  Learning to play at a young age will mean a lifetime of staying active for your child.

Children are typically ready to begin learning squash between the ages of four and seven, once they have developed a basic level of coordination, balance, and focus. By eight years old, almost any child is ready to try squash and discover whether it sparks a real interest. This spark cannot be taught, but it can be transmitted by a role model with a contagious passion for the sport.

Squash is also played at many elite colleges, and we don’t think it’s a coincidence that many people who play squash are successful academically!  Squash promotes discipline, focus, endurance and stamina.  Through playing squash, kids can become more confident and apply the skills they learn on the court to all areas of their lives.

Our Coaches

SquashRx pros have years of experience coaching junior players and teams.  Players have gone on to compete at the highest levels, and have been accepted to elite colleges such as Princeton University, Dartmouth College, and Stanford University.

Our coaches tailor lessons and programs to the individual student.  There is no one size fits all approach. Lesson plans and progressions are based on the ability and potential of each player.  SquashRx instructors have traveled the world, competing, coaching and building lifelong friendships centered around this unique and wonderful game.
